Youth Track Subscription Service
Typical Software Upgrades
Typically, when software is purchased, you pay the purchase price and then every year or two
after you purchase the software, upgrades become available. The much anticipated upgrade arrives
and you are hoping that (a) you have enough money in your budget to pay for it and (b) the upgrade
includes new features that you've been hoping for and really need to save you even more time.
The upgrade arrives with all of its new whistles and bells, however, the new features you
really need are not included. But in order to keep your software current, you pay the upgrade price
(if you have the money) and wait another year or two hoping the next upgrade will have those much
needed features. Well, we want to change all that when it comes to Youth Track. We want Youth
Track to become a continuously evolving software product where your ideas and suggestions can be (a)
heard and (b) implemented and released on a timely basis.
Introducing the Youth Track Subscription Service
The Youth Track Subscription Service was designed to eliminate the need for upgrades completely.
Instead of the scenario just described, where you wait for a long period of time for new features
and then hope the features you need will be included, the subscription service will provide the
following:
- Feature Requests: A means to where you can submit your feature requests directly to
our developer team for review. The feature requests will be tracked and evaluated on a weekly basis
to determine whether or not the feature request will be included in the next update. You
will receive feedback on your feature request from the developer team to let you know the status of
your request. Consideration for feature request implementation will be based on the following:
Popularity - has this been requested several times?
Feasibility - will this feature request involve a major structure change of the database?
Beneficial - will this feature request be beneficial to other users or is this request specific to
only one ministry program.
It may be that certain functionality already exists that you haven't discovered yet. If this is the
case we will instruct you on how you can accomplish your request in the current release.
The bottom-line is that all requests will be heard and considered for the next update.
- Two Updates Per Year: Twice per year (minimum), updates with brand new or improved features
will be posted for you to download from your on-line account downloads list. You will be provided with
instructions for downloading and installing the update. An update history document will be provided so
you can view all changes made to the current update and review past update changes.
- On-line Account: When you initially purchase Youth Track 6, the first year of the
Subscription Service will be included. At that time, you will receive your account logon
information and instructions. When you logon to your account, you will be able to view your
Youth Track license information (which includes your serial number), your Subscription Service
expiration date, your general account information such as name, address, phone number, etc. and
access your product downloads list. You can modify your account information to keep it current.
You can logon anytime (24/7) to lookup information and/or download new updates when they are
released.
Youth Track Subscription Service Benefits
- Receive More for your Dollar: When you consider the costs typically associated with
updates and upgrades, the other benefits of the Subscription Service and that our product support
is widely recognized as the one of the best of any software vendor, the Subscription Service is
an incredible bargain.
- Eliminate unknown upgrade costs: As long as you maintain an active Subscription
Service account, you will not incur any surprise upgrade costs. This will help you be able
to include the Subscription Service in your budget plan because it is a known expense with no
hidden costs or surprises. This is in contrast to most software programs where the upgrades
are usually unknown until just before the product is released and wasn't included in your
budget. New versions of Youth Track are automatically included with the Subscription
Service.
- Immediate Availability of Updates Updates to Youth Track will be
immediately available to current subscribers via their on-line account downloads list.
- Automatic Access to Beta Programs Major new features, as well as new versions of
Youth Track may be posted as beta versions prior to their initial release, if deemed necessary
by our developerteam. Subscribers will have access to all updates and upgrades in beta testing
during the beta stage.
- Report Writer Service Receive a special discount for having the MTS staff design
Youth Track 6 report writer reports for your extra tough projects. This will be a limited
service depending on your request, we may or may not be able to achieve the desired results.
This all depends on the data available for the report and the type of content you require.
- Access to Enhancement Requests Current subscribers have unlimited access to the
Enhancement Request features via their Account Logon. Have an idea for a new feature that
would help your ministry? Submit your idea using the Enhancement Request system. If your
request is accepted, receive feedback regarding the estimated release date of the new feature.
Youth Track Subscription Service Price
Once your annual Subscription Service expires, you may opt to renew to continue to enjoy the
benefits of the Subscription Service for an incredibly low cost. To see the latest Subscription

What If I Don't Subscribe or My Subscription Service Expires?
If you currently own Youth Track 5.x and choose not to subscribe, the only way to acquire future
Youth Track updates or upgrades (starting with Youth Track 6) will be to purchase the Youth Track
Subscription Service. You can continue to use your current version of Youth Track and will continue
to receive product support. For obsolete products, product support will discontinue 18 months after
a new product version is introduced. This is typical throughout the software industry. Since Youth
Track 6 was released in November of 2003, Youth Track 5.x support will continue through May 2005.
If you choose not to renew your Subscription Service, you can continue to use Youth Track as is at
the time your Subscription Service expired. You will also continue to receive product support.
However, you will not be able to acquire Youth Track updates or upgrades and will not have access
to all the benefits of the Subscription Service unless you renew. If you allow your Subscription
Service to expire, you can renew at anytime in the future without penalty. Also, since all Youth
Track updates and upgrades through the Subscription Service are cumulative, you can renew at anytime
and catch up to the latest version of Youth Track with a single update.
Please note that product updates and upgrades, regardless of when they were released, are only
available to registered customers with an active Subscription Service. Also, in order to streamline
our development processes and maintain a single code base, we will not be posting or providing updates
or upgrades outside of the Subscription Service. This includes enhancements as well as problems in the
product that we correct.
The best way to keep your version of Youth Track current, and to receive all of the other benefits of
the Subscription Service, is simply to keep your Subscription Service current.
Please note, under no circumstances are Subscription Service renewal purchases refundable.
